A Bit About Tracy
Her Story
Tracy Matthews is a 32 year old New York City Native. She is a graduate of Delaware State University and Morgan State University.
In 2008, Tracy graduated with her bachelor’s degree in social work from, Delaware State University. From there she moved to Philadelphia and began a 10-month volunteer commitment with AmeriCorps, City Year Greater Philadelphia. Her experience with City Year inspired her to remain in education and pursue her career as a teacher. After residing in Philadelphia for a year, Tracy relocated to Baltimore, Maryland and earned her master’s degree in social work from Morgan State University in 2012.
The bulk of her experiences have been within the education system, particularly special education. Tracy has mentored, tutored, and taught students in middle school and high school. Along with teaching and mentoring, she provided college and career counseling, coordinated an after-school program, supervised youth who worked for Youth-Works, and directed multiple community service events. In addition to being an educator, Tracy has provided therapeutic individual and group counseling to middle school students as a school social worker.
Tracy began writing children’s books in 2008. In her nine years of working with inner-city children she has rarely seen books featuring or of interest to children of color, and believes “Solo’s Nose Is Out of Control” can be the first of a series that helps redress that disparity. Other titles that she is currently developing are “Weekends In Harlem” and “Jada Goes To Spelman”. When Tracy is not writing, teaching or volunteering, she is spending time with her family and friends. She is currently a 2nd grade teacher a Board member for The Akoben Foundation in Baltimore City.

Solo's Nose Is Out of Control
August 17, 2017
Solo's Nose Is Out of Control is the first of many books that I will share with the world.
Solo is a six year old boy who hates eating vegetables. Solo's mother has tried everything she could possibly do to get Solo to eat his vegetables, but nothing works. One day Solo awakes with a cold that causes him to sneeze uncontrollably. Each time Solo sneezes his nose grows and eventually grows to be as big as a watermelon! !!!!😮😮.
If you're interested in finding out how Solo's nose shrunk back to its normal size, purchase your copy today.
